Air India launches new Delhi to Zurich route

Air India announced the launch of a new route between its Delhi hub and Zurich commencing 16 June 2024. The airline will operate four weekly flights on a two class Boeing 787-8 aircraft with 256 seats. Air India CEO Campell Wilson, said “This new route strengthens the ties between India and Switzerland, which are not only major trading partners, but also boast a vibrant exchange of people. With over 250 Swiss companies operating in India, hundreds of Indian companies in Switzerland, and a growing Indian diaspora of nearly 18,000, these flights will cater to a strong demand for business and leisure travel in both directions. Switzerland, a consistently top-ranking European destination for Indian tourists, will now be even more accessible, with these flights further solidifying the economic and cultural bridges between the two nations.”

 

Akasa Air enhances its pet travel service

Akasa Air, recently announced key enhancements to its pet-travel service titled ‘Pets on Akasa’. As part of the enhancements, Akasa Air now allows customers to travel with pets weighing up to 10 kgs (including the weight of the container) in the cabin. The airline crossed the milestone of carrying 3,200+ pets since the service launched in November 2022. Akasa Air Co-Founder and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer, Belson Coutinho, said “Thanks to the love and support of pet parents and their constructive feedback, we are pleased to announce key enhancements to our Pets on Akasa service. This positive change not only reinforces our commitment to listening to feedback from our customers but also endorses our culture of using feedback for continuous improvement.”

 

IndiGo enhances connectivity with Thailand

IndiGo announced a new route between its Delhi hub and Phuket, Thailand commencing 1st June operating daily in response to growing business and leisure demand, with plans to increase to double daily. IndiGo Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, said “We are pleased to add new flights on the Delhi Phuket route taking our frequencies from the current 7 to 14 a week. These are in addition to our 7 flights a week from Delhi to Bangkok. In line with our commitment towards 'giving wings to the nation' and enabling travel aspirations, these flights will cater to the increasing domestic demand to explore Thailand’s largest island. With convenient visa rules, spectacular beaches, shopping & entertainment, Thailand has always been a prominent travel hub in Southeast Asia.”
